As official sports flooring partner to England Netball, DYNAMIK appreciate how difficult this year has been for many people in the Netball Family. We want to do our bit to help clubs return after a tough year, and so we are pledging to support one lucky England Netball member club with a £500 grant. The grant can be used by the winning club for absolutely anything they need to help them restart netball, from replenishing bibs and purchasing additional equipment, to hiring a court or supporting players with transport, the choice really is yours.

To be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is post a netball related photo of your club on Twitter or Instagram before entries close. This could be a team photo, an action shot, or a picture of some of your players stepping onto your outdoor courts wrapped up this winter (please note, the photo can be from before the pandemic hit or more recent – the choice is yours!

Alongside your photo,  tell us how your club has supported its members throughout 2020 or kept them engaged with netball, and therefore why your club deserves to win this generous grant!

Coombe Wood School in Croydon, which is run by Folio Education Trust and who has for the last three years teamed up with the Luol Deng Foundation, is proud to show off its new basketball court with a bespoke court design provided by DYNAMIK and Basketball England as part of their Official Sports Flooring Partnership.

Luol Deng played in the NBA for 15 years, among the teams he represented are the Chicago Bulls and the LA Lakers. His Foundation in the UK are committed to seeing the growth of youth basketball to support its popularity amongst young people.

The Luol Deng Foundation have teamed up with Coombe Wood School to deliver the school’s basketball academy (The Coombe Wood Topcats) and provide students with a development pathway that ensures they can access and play the game they enjoy. CWS basketball players receive professional and top quality coaching in every lesson and currently play in the Jr NBA League. School Games lessons and extra-curricular practices consist of fundamentals and skill development as well as competitive game situations which align perfectly with the school’s core values, (teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship).

Craig Jack from DYNAMIK speaks about this project and the success of collaboration with Basketball England by providing youth basketball with an inspirational court design:

A Hat Trick for DYNAMIK!

We are proud to announce our third ASB GlassFloor Installation, and the 4th in the UK, with our latest upcoming project at Chelsea Barracks.

The ASB GlassFloor by DYNAMIK will be installed within the Sports Centre at the prestigious Chelsea Barracks residential development which is under construction. Originally a British Army Barracks, the new London development will maintain some of the history of the original Barracks including the Garrison Chapel.

This state-of-the-art Sports Hall will have a focus on tennis and as such, the green grass colour of the court and surrounds will provide users with a real tennis court experience. The multi-use sports hall incorporates game-changing LED line-marking technology by enabling a single court to be illuminated by the touch of a button. Being able to offer single games lines is often only seen on prestigious sports specific courts. Therefore, be it tennis, badminton, basketball or 5-a-side football, this really is a high-performance sports court for all.

The GlassFloor also really does have green credentials – it has a life expectancy in excess of 60 years given that it is constructed using glass, ceramic and aluminium, all materials that are known for their toughness, resistance to climate, corrosion and ageing.

Lowest Maintenance Costs of Any Sports Floor

Over a 60 year period a typical 600m2 timber sports floor can cost in excess of £340,000. This includes a replacement floor together with periodic, sanding, sealing and line marking but excludes the day to day maintenance regime. The ASB Glassfloor only requires a day to day maintenance regime and no refinishing throughout its life.

Construction

The Glass Floor is constructed using two layers of laminated safety glass. Each glass layer is 5mm thick and both layers are connected with a PVB foil, 1.2mm thick. The surface is then etched to prevent the reflection of light and burnt-in ceramic dots are applied to provide the required slip resistance.

This week DYNAMIK are celebrating another project completed, this time in an Aircraft Hanger at RAF Colerne in Chippenham.

DYNAMIK Sport was chosen by Beard Construction to supply and install 2010m2 of “Flexi-Beam Plus” A4 sprung system finished in a “solid” non-foam backed Tarkett sports flooring, as well as 600m2 of the new weights tile from DYNAMIK | Direct ‘Multi-Flex’ rubber gym flooring. It was a pleasure to work on such a large, well-managed project especially considering the extra safety procedures in place, during this challenging time. All DYNAMIK installers and contract management team felt well protected and supported by Beard Construction at every step of the 8 week project.
