ECO-TEK have developed flooring systems for fitness studios and gyms that solve the acoustic issues associated with these facilities and provide robust floor solutions that cope with the loadings of fitness equipment and the impact from free weights. This project required a high performance acoustic floor as the gym was on the first floor and the client wanted to minimise impact sound travelling through the structure. The solution installed consisted of the Eco-Cradle rubber cradle, pack & level subfloor with a double plywood load distribution layer and the GT40, 40mm rubber tiles to withstand impacts from free weights activities. The floor system provided high levels of acoustic isolation reducing low frequency noise generated by the use of fitness equipment and impacts from dropping weights from transmitting into the structure.
