ECO-TEK Magna-Flex LVT was specified for its adhesive-free
magnetic installation system, delivering a cost-efficient and
sustainable flooring solution. The Magna-Flex system
incorporates a magnetically receptive underlay, enabling
secure installation without the use of wet adhesives.
The existing substrate consisted of resilient sheet vinyl.
Rather than undertaking full uplift and disposal of the
existing floorcovering – which would have required
additional subfloor preparation using latex smoothing
compounds – Magna-Flex LVT was installed directly over
the retained surface, subject to suitability assessment. This
approach eliminated the need for invasive preparation
works and reduced material usage.

Installation time, site disruption, and waste generation were
significantly reduced, resulting in measurable cost savings
for the local authority. From a lifecycle perspective, the
system offers enhanced flexibility, as future refurbishment or
replacement can be achieved through the removal and
reinstallation of individual magnetic tiles, minimising
downtime, labour costs, and environmental impact.
